Make sense
bold and plain

Everything is sustainable these days: the way we live, eat, dress, travel, invest. For us, sustainability has always made sense. And making sense in our life is a bold, important task. But it’s not just about buying the right things, doing the right things. It’s more of a plain attitude: to look for value in our lives and the lives of others, to respect not just our planet, but existences, thoughts, meanings, creations. More than enough for us to create a collection with our bold credo “Make Sense”. And plain enough to carry this credo around every day to remind us to look for the big change in the small details of our daily routine.

When we decided to launch Le Picot it was clear to us that we want to produce slow fashion: Fashion that is produced under best-in-class sustainable conditions, from the sourcing of the fibers up to the sewing of the garments, its marketing, selling, and logistics. We wanted to make sense of what we do. That’s why we coined “Make Sense” as our credo. And now we launch a handful of items carrying exactly this message, and it’s nothing but logical that we call this the “Make Sense” collection.

However bold the message is, do not be led astray: Our thoughts about making sense go beyond sustainability. The changes in our life due to the pandemic highlighted what is important in our lives and what positive potential of change there is. For us, to make sense also means to value relationships, the moment, the contribution to society of those who stood at the front in hospitals, care centers, shops, or in public service. But also those in the informal economy or in the arts, who suffer most from the economic impact of the pandemic.

The items in our Make Sense collection carry names like “Statement” or “Bold”. Yes, we created a bold space for this statement, believe in its importance: MAKE SENSE! And we are certain that making sense is ultimately something very plain: A smile or a compliment, carefully selecting your food, taking time for yourself, thinking about others, trying to understand what makes our society live together more positively, more constructively. It’s not just about sustainable, slow fashion. It’s about values in our lives.

Enjoy our new collection and join us in our efforts by carrying our message in your heart, on your body, bold and plain!
